Hello Walkers and Bye Bye 2020!

We are in the “Cool Down” or “Home STRETCH” of 2020!

Word of the year – “Challenging!”
I have said that word so many times as I have led Walk at Home workouts! That’s the goal to achieve physical fitness … challenge the body … and the result is … the body gets strong, fit!

My prayer for the people of the World is that, because we were challenged, we are all STRONGER!

Question of the year – How are you managing the stress of 2020?
Like so many of you, my experience with 2020 has been full with  ….

Praying for all that are sick from the virus, or managing a broken heart because of missing a loved one that was taken by the virus!

Watching way too much TV and how the World is managing the Coronavirus pandemic!
***(I have to tear myself away from news reports with Dr. Fauci… health science had me captivated since my early years of following anything that Dr. Kenneth Cooper – “Father of Aerobics” was presenting!  He was my introduction to prevention, exercise science, wellness, health care, fitness.  When Dr. Cooper described Health Care as … “Sick Care” … oh my hair was on fire leaving his lecture at Slippery Rock University one chilly day in
1980-something! Still my hero – CooperInstitute.org)

Doing what I can to help ease the daily burdens from packing food boxes at church to making soup for my own family!

Reading the books piled up on the floor … that I couldn’t seem to get to last year …. just starting Bishop Michael Curry’s – Love is the Way! (It’s so good ….)

And most of all ….
WALKING! For 35+ years it has been a privilege to study and spread the good news of what walking can do for the health of our world!

This I know for sure … when we “walk more” …. people get healthier, our communities get healthier, the world is healthier!

I walk on a treadmill at times … I walk around the back yard often …. I walk with the Walk at Home Videos most days of the week! (I turn the sound down when I am walking with myself … seriously it’s all I can take … big shout out to our Nick, Rocky, Brittany, Kamilah, Nadyia … for making it fun for this old-girl! I LOVE their Miles!)

And finally … I putt putt putt  (translate “slow”) around the yard on my mini bike… the only speeding I am doing is to my next birthday coming fast – 60 – and crazy excited waiting for my first grandchild!
