I thank God for leading me to the Walk at Home Program.

Diabetes runs on my father’s side of the family. Many family members on his side have suffered and died early in life from complications of Diabetes. My paternal grandmother was a double amputee. My cousin at the age of 57 died four years ago on Dialysis. He was like a big brother to me. My father didn’t have Diabetes. I always hoped that this terrible disease would skip me like it did my father. I wasn’t that fortunate.

I’m now 54 years old and work in the medical profession. The more knowledge I have about this systemic disease the more my fear grew. My fears only fueled the denial to come.

Five years ago I was diagnosed as a pre-diabetic but I didn’t need medication and all my blood work was good. So I didn’t worry. Three years ago I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I had to use a CPAP machine to help me breathe at night. I cried the first night I used it but I adjusted.

My clothes were getting tighter and my lifestyle more sedentary. I just didn’t feel that great.

On June 13th, 2019, I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I was given four prescriptions to fill and offered a glucometer to track my blood sugars. I was crushed and scarred! I saw my future as full of pain, complications with an early demise. I would miss out on enjoying my family and watching them grow. I looked around my kitchen and thought I can’t eat anything, none of it is good for me. I lost my appetite and the Pity Party began. I texted my best friend and told her the news. Her response was simply “GET MAD!” I chewed on that for the rest of the night. I was mad! Mad at myself, mad because I know better. While I sat in front of the TV, a WW commercial came on with Oprah. I’ve seen this before but this time it spoke to me! I immediately went online and joined WW. My weight at my PCP visit that day was 203 lbs.

I walked into my first WW studio a week later with a starting weight of 199.6 lbs. My attitude at that moment was that I was walking into battle for my life! I followed the WW point system and was surprised it wasn’t as hard as I thought would be. I knew I needed to exercise but I hate running, jumping and complicated aerobics. I searched online for something low impact that I could do daily. Guess what, the Walk at Home DVD’s popped up more than anyone else. So I looked it up on You-Tube and there was all the Walkers! I liked the workout so I purchased my first DVD – Walking off The Pounds, 3 Miles. I love it! It’s my favorite of all the DVDs! Oh it was hard in the beginning. I hadn’t moved like that in years but I walked with Walk at Home every day. Two months into walking I started using the Ab and back strengthening exercises. Again, hard but I wouldn’t give up!

I was scheduled for my three month PCP visit and when she walked into the exam room her mouth dropped! She said, “Where is the rest of you?” She was so happy that I lost weight! On that visit, my weight was 166 lbs. My PCP took me off my medications and ordered another sleep study. The study showed I had no further sleep disturbance. No more CPAP!!! I was feeling great! My husband even said I didn’t snore anymore. I felt like I needed someone to pinch me because I must be dreaming.

I tell all my friends about the Walk at Home workouts and how much I love them! Now my friends are working out with Walk at Home too! So far I’ve lost 54 lbs. My weight today is 147.6 lbs.

Thank God for Walk at Home and My WW family! My life is changed forever! My WW coach asked for words of wisdom during a meeting when I received my 50 lb. charm. I told the group not to forget why they walked through those doors. I came in with a plan to fight for my life and that will continue for the rest of my life. God has blessed me greatly by introducing me to Walk at Home and my WW family. I will never part from either one of you.

I’m so grateful to have been able to reclaim my health. It’s never too late to work towards becoming your healthiest self.

I discovered Walk at Home (YouTube version) on New Year’s Day after making a Fitness goal of walking 10K steps a day and haven’t missed a day since. After the first month, I gifted myself the full access Walk at Home App subscription and absolutely loved it!

I never thought I’d love walking as much, if not more, than my yoga practice but i do and it’s because Walk at Home. For the first time in my life I actually feel like an athlete. Since starting the Walk at Home Fitness videos my mood has boosted, my energy has skyrocketed, my waistline has slimmed and trimmed, my endurance has strengthened, my walking pace has improved, i’ve lost weight, i’m healthier and I have ABS!

Inspiring others in their journey to health and wellness is such a motivating factor to me in my own journey. As a newly retired compounding pharmacist, I’m excited to see where my next adventure will take me. My husband and I are moving to our forever home in the beautiful Arizona desert from WA State next month to retire. I’m excited to bring Walk at Home with me to work out at home or with me while I hike the trials.

I’m so grateful I established a Walk at Home routine prior to COVID-19 or I probably would not have been able to maintain my WW lifetime membership. I will be a Walk at Home Walker for LIFE!

Hi! After joining WW in January 2018 and losing 30 lbs I decided to add movement to my weight loss journey after hearing about the Walk at Home walking videos during a WW workshop. I found the videos to be just what I needed because I’ve always hated to exercise. While combining my WW journey with 4 to 5 days of 30 minute walks via YouTube I continud to lose weight and shed about 30 more lbs, before I slowly stopped using the videos in 2019. Fast forward to March 2020 and being put on pause due to the coronavirus pandemic. Here I was temporarily put off work, moving less  and still trying to get rid of the winter weight I had already gained. Like an old friend I reunited with Walk at Home’s walking videos via YouTube and pushed the reset button on my WW journey. Now 10 weeks into this current pause, I’m in NYC and still out of work, but I’m at my healthiest and lowest weight thus far. In April we also purchased the Walk at Home digital membership and have been following the daily walks. As of today. I am only 1 lb from my next goal of losing 75lbs. Then I’ll be continuing to hold the hand of both WW and Walk at Home as I walk my way to an 80 lb loss.

After graduating college and starting a desk job, plus being in a comfortable relationship with my now husband, I found myself at my highest weight. After getting engaged I managed to lose some weight by crash dieting and after the wedding quickly gained it all back by falling easily back into old habits. Shortly after getting married we found out we were expecting our first daughter. While pregnant, my dad had to have open heart surgery and that was really the wake up call I needed to started perusing a truly healthy lifestyle. I was encouraged to join WW by a dear friend who had been very successful. In June 2016 I began my WW journey and never looked back! Shortly after, I began incorporating the Walk at Home program into my daily life. I would do a quick one mile walk during a break at work in our conference room or if the baby woke up early I’d let her play on the floor while I did a 3 mile walk! My husband even started doing the walking videos with me at night! I lost 67 pounds on WW and using Walk at Home. I maintained that lose until August of 2018 when we started trying for our second child. I just had my second baby in September 2019 and while pregnant still continued to use the Walk at Home program with the encouragement of my OB. I gained about 30 pounds while pregnant and have lost that weight (plus more) by rejoining WW and using the Walk at Home program!

I started WW and Walk at Home a year after my first child was born. I’m 5’2” and I gained over 50 lbs. I weighed in at 205 when I delivered him. I was so miserable. I’d hear the comments “When is your baby due? (And he was 4 months old) I just got tired of being tired, so I cut out diet soda because something in the soda made me crave sweets. I quit fast food, and I started the Walk at Home program. I could only do 1-2 miles to start with. My very first DVD was Punch Up Your Walk. It was 4 Miles with weighted gloves. Doing these DVDs along with WW helped me lose pounds. Then I got pregnant with my daughter and gained 50 lbs again but I was quick to lose the weight after she was born. I developed Diastasis Recti with this pregnancy. I’m not able to do crunches and a lot of ab exercises. I’m so so thankful for my walking DVDs and WW. I have lost 62 pounds  since my second baby. I have 10 pounds to go to reach lifetime on WW. It’s not always easy but it will happen!

I started WW on August 24th. First I just wanted to learn healthy eating habits. Then about 4 months later I joined the gym to get some movement in. It was all new for me so I didn’t do much except the treadmill. I went to the gym 3 days a week after work because that was all the time I could find. Then the pandemic happened and I could go to the gym anymore and I needed to continue to be active so I found walk at home on UTube. I started doing it and loved it. I then decided to purchase the app and bands so that I can do all the exercises. Now I am even looking into getting hand weights. I walk at home with Leslie, Nick, Nadia and all the others six days a week on my app right in my den and I love it. I am down 55.2 pounds since August and I am quitting my membership to the gym because I have NEVER enjoyed activity so much as I do with walk at home. It’s been a month since I started walking. I do the 3 mile / 30 minute fast walk on YouTube 5 times a week. Hi! I have been a walker for a long time now and have always loved it. I finally decided in May of 2018 to get serious about walking and nutrition and joined WW. Since then I’ve lost 70 lbs using the tools of WW and WAH. And I’m going to be 54 in two months. I began my healthy journey in June 2018 by starting WW. I lost 50 pounds! It’s still off too. I’d like to lose about 20 more but I fight my slow thyroid. If all I do is maintain where I am now, thought, that’s a huge win! I look and feel so much better. I started with just WW, the in February of 2019 I decided I needed physical activity to help maintain my loss and for the health benefits. I had walked with Walk at Home in the past so I started again. I use YouTube videos and I put together my own mix of walks everyday. I work from home and I get three 15 minute breaks a day. I do a 10-12 minute walk during all three breaks. It really brings such a great energy to my day. I do about six miles of walking a day. I can’t believe how strong my body is, especially my legs! Fitness walking is definitely the best form of exercise for me!

Restarted WW and Walk at Home on 2/22/20. Right before shutdowns started. The good thing about all of these closures was that I could focus on me. I’ve walked EVERYDAY. I joined Weight Watchers in July 2016 as I had gained a lot of weight and was the heaviest I had ever been at 245 pounds. I was determined to lose the weight this time and with WW and working out with the Walk At Home workouts (at the time I used mostly the Miracle Miles workouts) I was able to lose 100 pounds and reach my goal weight on December 30, 2017. Now at lifetime and still using the Walk At Home workouts, I have maintained my goal weight for almost 2.5 years and don’t plan on gaining the weight back this time. My success story is lengthy so I decided to direct message rather than a long comment on your Facebook post.

 

I started my ww journey in January and added walk at Home almost immediately.  It is an easy yet challenging way to get in a great exercise while having fun.  To help with my journey my Dad paid for me to have the walk at home app, which has been a game changer.  The variety keeps thing challenging and new.  While I have my go to walks, the daily walk calendar gives me different options that I may otherwise overlook.  I love having the variety of walk distance, speed, challenge level, and different exercise tools.  Which is also one of the things I love about WW.  Having variety and options has been a key to my success, I am never bored!

 

While working from home since the beginning of March I have found ways to spread my workout throughout the day.  I have an incredibly supportive co-worker who covers me so I can take breaks and do mini walks, along with my mile in the morning and at lunch. I save the longer and more challenging walk for after work.  I never feel like I’m killing myself but I do feel like I had an awesome workout and feel good after.

 

Since I started my journey I am down almost 50 pounds! I have more energy, I sleep better, and my cardio stamina has drastically improved!!  When I started I was out of breath doing a 15 minute walk.  I did yesterday’s 49 minute, 4 mile daily walk and it was a piece of cake!  Was I sweaty, sure!  Did I feel the burn, yes!  But, I felt great after and found a new walk to add to my favorites list.

 

I know that changing my eating habits has played a major role in my weight loss but having Walk at Home not only helped with my loss but it has improved so may other things with my health, body, and mindset.

 

Thank you for all of your walk videos and having a vast variety of walking levels and exercise options.  With Walk at Home and WW, I am confident that I will meet my goal.  I have a ways to go to get to my end goal but I know that I can do it.  A big part of that is due to Walk at Home. I never thought that I would look forward to exercising, but I do!!

I just finished doing a 2 mile walk with your DVD. I first discovered your system back in the 90’s at a local library when it was on VHS tape. Fell in love with it and lost weight. I have lived a sedentary lifestyle until 1/1/16. I joined Weight Watchers , heard about walk at home. I have been walking daily with you tube videos and recently purchased the miracle miles 5 DVD set. I workout at least 5 days a week with outdoor walks as much as the weather will allow. I have lost 63.6 pounds this year and can see the toning in my arms , legs, waist line and my joints feel great. Not bad for a 66 year old woman. I love to walk and this fits right into my lifestyle of Weight Watchers and love of walking.
