Hi Leslie
Just thought I would let you know about our little keep fit group here in
Coldingham, Scotland. We have a 16ft screen at the end of our village hall
and a projector that drops out of the ceiling. Each Wednesday evening about
15 of us get together, get weighed, discuss healthy eating and then using a
selection of your DVDs we proceed to walk “STRONG”. It’s amazing and good
fun to feel part of your walking group and even though you stand about 12ft
tall towering above us we can still give you some backchat (safely I think
knowing you are accross the pond). The group is run voluntarily by Helen who
is one of the practice nurses from the local doctors surgery who after she
publicly gets weighed she then, frighteningly, stands by the scales and
notes down our weekly weight loss and leads the discussion before we hit the
play button.
There are about 15 folk in the group and we all feel as if we are a lot
healthier even if the weight bounces about a bit after a holiday. My wife,
Denise and I are about to turn 65 and although we are not the oldest in the
group or by far the youngest we have been involved from the start of the
group just over a year ago. These sessions have also prompted many of the
group to purchase their own DVDs of the walks as well to use at home at
other times during the week. Although we get other men taking part at times,
I seem to be the only constant male and sometimes feel a bit like Steve in
your DVD being “forced to walk” with you shouting “don’t stop, don’t stop”.
We could send some photos of our sessions if we had an e-mail address to
attach them to and by the way, what a lovely view from your studio doors
during the fve mile walk.
So from the group, “thanks again”
