21 Days of Walking at Home!

Hi Everybody!

First I have to say: OOOOOOO those FACES on Walk Social!!

I don’t even look at the Miles adding up, I have been cheering as each of your pictures load! You are ALL so beautiful!

My walkers.. Yes, that’s what I have been calling you for years, but you are so much more; you really are SUPER Walkers!!

Could I be any more excited?

I don’t think so! I am rockin’ in this chair as I tap tap tap my poor keyboard with excitement! Opps, I am falling out of my seat … ok … I’m ok … no worries …. ouch…..

Now let’s get to some real exciting stuff!

It’s TIME for the WALK 21 Fitness ………………..CH-CH-CH-CHALLENGE!!! (I really am screaming this as I write it – I’m home alone!)

What I want you to know in this 21 Day event is that:

  • I am walking with you,
  • I will be talking with you,
  • we will be sharing encouragement with our fellow walkers,
  • we have surprises for you planned all through the Challenge,
  • …and most of all we will be carrying on my mission of 25+ years: to spread the good news of what Fitness Walking can do!

Thank you – my friends – for motivating me to continue on year after year! Thank YOU for walking with ME!

How to participate in Walk 21:

Each day – Check our Facebook page for the “Daily Walk” Assignment.

Please know this is a “suggestion” for the day.  If you don’t complete the full assignment – please just do as much as you can and then move on to the next day (That’s the secret to life, by the way)!

Through this Challenge you can complete the daily assignments by counting:

– Miles (using DVD’s, Treadmill or outdoor)

– Minutes (Use a stopwatch or clock)

– Steps (use a Step Counter)

**You do not need our DVD’s or fitness accessories – all styles of walking WORK for your health goals.

**Do the daily assignment all in one session or break it up into “mini” walks throughout the day.

**I will post the walks that I will be doing each day.

That’s it! It’s so easy to WALK YOURSELF HEALTHY!  Have fun and let’s WALK  everybody!

    Can’ wait to start walk 21!! Been using your program now for 3 months. Everything you say is true….I’ve lost 15 pounds, my blood pressure has gone down, resting pulse decreased, glucose level down. I love, love, love!! 🙂

    You are a God send Leslie.I love walking with you, as a single mom, moved to PR and haven’t made any friends I am so happy to have you as my friend and walking buddy!! No matter if I can’t sleep and am up at 3 so are you walking with me. I sing the praises of your easy, yet very effective workouts, and my sweaty body shows it. I might be in competition with you and Mary Kay on the sweating. Hahaha.. I love the challenges but I tend to always give a little more!     Well, I’ll be trying to merge this schedule with my plan for half marathon training so I’m thankful to see WAH rules are still the same…I’ll be going with the 45 minutes rule for today by doing one gentle mile and You Can Do Yoga !!

    Got hooked about 2 years ago from a weight watcher friend at the meeting! Have to say it is soooo addicting to walk with Leslie. I do the dvd’s and the energy keeps me moving love it. I will be joining the many others in the walk 21, hitting the floor with my shoes tied tight when I close my computer!!!! Thank you Leslie you are the greatest inspiration!!!!

    I am really excited about doing this 21 day challenge. I will be doing one of my favorite 3 mile walks tonight. I have not decided which one I am going to do yet because all of them are my favorites. But what ever walking workout I do my mother and I will be doing it together. Leslie many blessings to you and your family. I started my walking journey in 1997. I was in my first year if high school. It is now 2012 and I am still walking strong. When I first started walking I was 130 pounds. I am now 120 pounds. I have tried other fitness programs. But I would never complete any new program I tried. I always would come back to in-home-walking. I will never do another workout program except your program Leslie. Your program works for me. I now have my mother Carol doing your program with me. We now both walk together as a family. And we always will. We love your program Leslie and we always will. When I first started to do your workouts I found them hidden in my families video collection. They were all in VHS format. I started with your program with the blue weighted balls. Then I started doing your Walk Away The Pounds For The ABS with the walk belt. Then I did the Walk Away The Pounds Express program with the firm band. All were on VHS at the time. My favorite of them all is the Walk Away The Pounds Express program. I love the music in that program. The Walk Power Walk song is the best. Now my walking collection is so big I don’t now where to store them all. I have been walking with you for 14 years and counting. Please keep walking the walk Leslie with us. We love you.     I have been doing these videos “off & on” for several years. For the past month I have made a commitment to move more to keep my weight loss going. I’ve lost 22 pounds over the past year. After doing 2 miles on my new WAH video today,I found the blog online. WHOO HOO….I had a reason to do 1 more mile. 3 miles done for today, I will finish 21 days. I am one of those people who REFUSE to have a facefook account, I’m hoping you will post the 2nd week daily schedule to this blog. I also shared the challenge with a co-worker and she just called to say that she did 3 miles. Thanks, Leslie WE ooking forward to completeing the 21 days.

    Since February 1st I have been eating healthier meals and walking to your variest Dvds and within 2 weeks Iam down 8.5 lbs! I am super excited to receive your new workout Dvd which I have already preordered. Walking to your Dvds brings a smile to my face and put me in a good mood daily!

    I love that we can count steps, time or mileage. I’m such a walker and have been for years, but I”m trying a different form of exercise at this time in order to break through a plateau. I will still walk two or three times a week, but this way I can participate in the challenge on days when I do my alternate exercise program. I’m thrilled ! Thank you for allowing time/steps to be counted.

    Love reading all the comments! I, too, have been walking with you for years 🙂 …have all the watp-original, with abs, & express on vhs. Repurchased them all on DVD plus many, many more 🙂 Have given away many as gifts over the years. All 3 daughters and youngest son, even hubby, work out with you! Love the dvds with the guys, and with Marie and Chrissy. Our kids love seeing Marie at different ages 🙂 (our girls are 17, 15, 13)(btw-even 19yo son’s girlfriend wallks with us when she’s here :)) Love the Burn Body Fat’s 3 separate workouts on one dvd. We like to do a 3mile in the am, 2m in the aftn, and 1m in the evening. Three of us use pulsemeters and we love that all the WalkSlim forward dvds keep our pulses up in a great range. Thanks SO much for blessing us …keep up the great ministry!!!

    Hi Leslie, I discovered your tapes 2 years ago and was consistant almost every day for a year and a half. However, I see my old habits creeping up on me as we do some traveling and a lot of eating out! I know how absolutely great I feel when “in sinc”. You are my bud…the positive input I need to hear each day, as I am around a lot of negative people close to me. I’m almost 71 years old and refuse to start feeling that way! The exercises really help! We’re going on a trip to Israel in a couple weeks and will be doing walking there. Before and after the trip I will endeavor to focus on following the challenge as well. I owe you for your dedicated love. The best way I can pay you back is to just “do it” for myself. I have high blood pressure, a diabetic and 220 lbs. I want to live a healthy life…by striving to have all those numbers go down!

    Im wondering been doing the walk every day on my treadmill and wondering what speed should I be doing . Ive been doing 2.5 and then up to 3 . But just wondering if there is a speed I should be doing these walks.

    Thanks Leslie your prograns are really working for me. I’m 63 and have several health issues, fibro, depression and I have steel rods attached to my spine beacause of a curved spine. Your tapes help me with all the all of the above, doctors say I have to exercise each day and it really works, helps the depression, fibro and helps me support the muscles supporting my spine. I love your faith filled spirit, and look forward to working out with you even when some days are tuff I always feel better afterwards. May God continue to bless and keep you and your family.

    I started using your program in mid-January, and took it slowly to start with, because I have Systemic Lupus and Fibromyalgia. I appreciate that there is always a low-impact alternative to every move, as I can participate safely. Over the past week I have started alternating between 3 miles one day and 4 miles the next. If I miss a day now, I feel like I’ve left a good friend out of my day. Walking has helped improve my fitness, blood pressure, cholesterol, and most importantly, my frame of mind. Thank you, Leslie, for sharing your program with all of us.

    I’ve been following the challenge and have been walking with Leslie for over a year now. Down 52 lbs.!!!!! I feel so much better and absolutely love my walking work outs. I alternate between about 10 different workouts so my muscles and myself don’t get bored. Thank you Leslie for making workouts fun and easy to fit in!

    Leslie – My walk buddy and I love you. Our New Years resolution was to kick 45 (the age we turn this year) in the butt!! The weather was to cold to walk outside so she dusted off these DVD’s (they were you). We huffed and puffed threw the first two days. Lots of giggles. Well, almost 3 months in and we can’t stop telling everyone who will listen about doing your WAH system. It sure has helped with toning and can see inches melting away. LOVE LOVE LOVE you.
